Pundit explains why Liverpool should give Salah just one year contract
- Paul Merson thinks Liverpool should give Mohamed Salah just one year
- The players are getting older every day.
- The “Reds” have to consider many factors.

Paul Merson, a famous football guru and former midfielder for Arsenal, a giant ยูฟ่าเบท club in the English Premier League, has given his opinion that Liverpool should offer a new contract to Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian winger, for only one year, because the player will be getting older and his form may not be as good as before.
Merson, who is now a football pundit, said: “I’m a big fan of his. I think he’s a world-class player. I would say he could be in any team in the world. He’s a winger and the top scorer in the Premier League. It’s amazing what he does week in, week out, year in, year out.”
“But for two and a half years, three years, that’s a lot of money to give to someone from a business perspective. Football is changing all the time. If it weren’t for that, all of us legends would still be playing! One thing is for sure in football, the older you get, the slower you get, the more your body deteriorates. That’s a fact.”
“Otherwise Usain Bolt would still win the 100m Olympics. For me, if it was a two-year deal, I would give it to him, but I wouldn’t give him the option to extend it another year. I understand Liverpool 100 per cent. I know people will say they have to buy someone and it will cost more.”
“But they’re going to have to buy someone sooner or later. Salah’s not going to be around until he’s 40 or 41, so you just have to let him go at the right time.”
